International maritime freight traffic accounts for more than 80 per cent of the total volume of global trade which gives vital importance to this sector. Dubai’s aspiration to be one of the world’s most influential commercial shipping hubs is substantiated by its world-class infrastructure and services, e.g. Port of Jebel Ali ranks 9th biggest container port globally.
