Over the last 30 years, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established various free zones to attract foreign investors, encourage international trade, thus stimulating economic growth in the country. Free zones, or free trade zones, are designated areas within the UAE that offer various incentives such as full ownership of companies by their foreign investors, zero taxation and simplified regulations.

The UAE has more than 40 free zones, each catering to specific industries such as finance, commodities, logistics, media, healthcare, technology, R&D etc. These free zones have been instrumental in positioning the UAE as a global hub for international trade and commerce, attracting businesses from all over the world to establish a presence in the country from where to do business not just in the UAE, but globally.
